Very few comic series ever reach four digits, and today Peter Parker joins that exclusive club. The Amazing Spider-Man #1000 is on shelves now, and Marvel has built it as a true celebration, packed with new stories and names that span the character's entire history.

The centerpiece is the main feature from series writer Joe Kelly and artist Pepe Larraz, which serves as a culmination of their run on the title so far. It also pits Spider-Man against his greatest fear and introduces Ravage, billed as his most frightening new villain in decades. Readers following the current run will want to pay close attention, since this issue kicks off the ongoing conflict between Spider-Man and Ravage.

The supporting lineup is where this issue really earns its anniversary status. Noah Hawley, known for Fargo, Legion, and Alien: Earth, makes his comic book debut, Frank Miller and Peach Momoko team up for the first time, and Stuart Immonen and Brian Michael Bendis reunite on Spider-Man. Hawley's story, drawn by Patrick Gleason, is titled "Still Standing" and focuses on an older Peter Parker looking back on his life. Longtime fans will also spot contributions from Dan Slott, J.M. DeMatteis, Larry Lieber, John Romita Jr., Marcos Martin, and Humberto Ramos.

This is a hefty package. The book runs 102 pages, carries a T+ rating, and is priced at $9.99. Collectors should come prepared, as the variant list is extensive, including a Ryan Stegman Ravage variant, a Skottie Young variant, and store exclusives tied to NYCC 2026.

With New York Comic Con just around the corner, expect this issue to be a popular item at signing tables.Issue #1000 is a milestone worth picking up.
