Thinking of going? Here’s a few good reasons to go to NYCC?
It's the 20th anniversary, and they're leaning into it. This year's edition takes place October 8-11 at the Javits Center, marking the convention's 20th anniversary with a Coney Island theme — so expect the show to visually lean into that milestone rather than just running business as usual.
A genuine Game of Thrones reunion. Lena Headey and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau are doing a joint panel titled "The Lannisters Send Their Regards," plus meet-and-greets, alongside House of the Dragon's Matt Smith — rare to get Cersei and Jaime sharing a stage together.
A Smallville-adjacent reunion is quietly stacked. Tom Welling, Kristin Kreuk, Erica Durance, and Michael Rosenbaum are all confirmed guests, which is the kind of lineup that doesn't happen often outside a dedicated con.
The comics guest list is genuinely heavy. Confirmed comic guests include Frank Miller, Jim Lee, James Tynion IV, Stephanie Phillips, Nick Dragotta and Scott Snyder, with Tom King, Amanda Conner, Jimmy Palmiotti, and Jock also on the docket — a rare density of A-list writers and artists in one hall.
DC is going bigger than usual. DC is expanding its NYCC footprint with a larger, multilevel booth, and is adding digital queueing for shop exclusives and talent signings — meaning less standing in a physical line just to get near a signing table.
Marvel has multiple dedicated panels, not just one. Expect sessions like Bullpen Bulletins with Stephen Wacker, The Midnight Hour, The Spider-Web, and House of Ideas spread across the weekend, so there's real substance beyond a single trailer drop.
Sci-fi/anime programming is stacked too. Panels and screenings cover a Star Trek: Starfleet Academy sneak peek and an English-dub One Piece panel, alongside hundreds of other sessions across gaming, anime, and cosplay.
Genre-fiction crossover appeal. With authors Rick Riordan, Kami Garcia and Becky Chambers attending, and a Percy Jackson panel featuring Walker Scobell ahead of Season 3, it's not purely a comics show — YA and genre-fiction fans have real reasons to be there too.
A Jurassic Park nostalgia reunion. Joseph Mazzello, Ariana Richards, and BD Wong are all confirmed, which is a rare in-person reunion for that cast.
The show still does the weird, only-at-NYCC stuff. There's a live table read of a Sesame Street episode titled "Numeric Con," a comic-con parody where Elmo poses as "The Dark Nine" — a reminder that NYCC's programming range goes well beyond just capes and cosplay.
